How to get candle wax out of car upholstery?

I can’t believe I left a bag of candles (red ones, no less) on my front seat in the hot weather…the bag had a small hole and some of the greasy wax seeped into the upholstery. Any ideas of how to get it out?

Wax isn't water soluble, so you can't really "wash" it out. The best method I know of won't ever get rid of all of the wax, but get as much off as you can by scraping, and then put a few pieces of newspaper or paper towels down and iron the waxy area (on low heat, probably). The wax will melt and be absorbed by the paper.

That will get most of the wax out, but if there's a red stain, that's staying. Sometimes you can brush in baby powder or any really fine/absorbent powder to get a grease/oil stain out… Just rub it in and vacuum/whisk broom it out, and it'll take little bits of oil with it each time. Works on khakis.

    Hope that helps.
